  • Posted by: FI Team

Overview

In a context where public administrations must adapt to the evolving needs of citizens, the Innov4Gov Journey stands as an interactive workshop designed to explore and accelerate the modernization of public services in Tunisia. This playful initiative fosters co-creation and experimentation of new approaches for a more transparent, participatory, and results-oriented governance.

Developed by Future Islands, with the support of the Hanns Seidel Foundation and in partnership with the National School of Administration (ENA), the Innov4Gov Journey offers an engaging methodology that places the citizen at the heart of digital transformation.

Challenge

Tunisian administrations face major challenges in terms of accessibility, efficiency, and innovation in managing public services. The lack of an inclusive and interactive approach limits the implementation of solutions that meet the real needs of citizens. Furthermore, public procurement processes often lack flexibility, hindering the adoption of technological and organizational innovations.

Solution

The Innov4Gov Journey is based on a series of immersive workshops that allow public agents, citizens, and entrepreneurial actors to co-create solutions tailored to local issues. With innovative facilitation tools and an interactive approach, these workshops encourage:

  • The exploration of citizen-centered public services, identifying needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Innovation in public procurement, introducing more agile mechanisms suited to new digital solutions.
  • Community testing, to test and validate solutions directly with users.

Results

The Innov4Gov workshop facilitated several impactful workshops:

  • Exploration of public services workshop in Kef: A collaborative meeting with public agents, entrepreneurs, and civil society members to rethink digital services for the citizen.
  • Innovation Caravan for the Public Sector in Kairouan and Bizerte: An engaging journey that brought together over 25 participants to explore the digital transformation of public services, experiment with digital tools, and design prototypes tailored to the real needs of citizens.

Through this approach, the Innov4Gov Journey has laid the foundations for more agile and inclusive governance, where innovation serves to improve public services in Tunisia.
